Witches of Minoc: Customized Plot
12x14 (11x13 usable area) 3 story plot (4 with a walkable roof)

This home was designed for two specific characters who are role played as fire and white witches. For those of you who are familiar with my garden site, one of them is Mekela Grandier an alchemist, gardener, and witch. I designed the entire house around the third floor and also had to take in the fact that the area is not condusive to characters who are not fighters so it needed to be closed and protective. The teleporters on the front steps offer a quick way to get inside when reapers and gargoyls spawn around the place. So as not to get too much teleporter lag when both characters are there, I placed two of them that lead inside by the door. The brick again gives a much more relaxed atmosphere. The focal point is the fireplace. I subtracted floor tiles when designing to make sure I knew where I wanted the fireplace so I could add the stone to the floor design. Remember when designing keep in mind somewhat of an idea of what you want to do with the space so you can use floor tiles to their best advatage. (just remember you need to look at the place for a long time so try to use tiles that are not going to make your eyes cross after awhile). There are two teleporters by the stairs, one leads to the roof and the other to the left side of the third floor.

The second floor is the bedroom and offered me enough room for a hot tub and a made bed to take up the space. I used vines throughout this room as it further supports the idea of who the characters are that live there. I have a teleporter that leads up to one part of the third floor also conviently hidden against the east wall. There is a small porch for design purposes but since reapers and gargoyls can cast onto the second floor I did not make it big enough to actually be of use.

The third floor is the lab and plant nursery. I used tiles in the lab that were ot too bright yet gave the feel of the atmosphere I tried to create. I did not however do anything that would make your eyes cross if you had to look at the tile too long. For the nursery I created an enclosed greenhouse effect with the floor length windows and grassed working area. I could have used wood in that area but it just did not enhance the greenhouse effect I wanted.

The roof is a garden and cooking area. The benches and table take full advantage of the view. Again I subtracted floor tiles to place the dirt for the plants and the stone for the cooking area before I finished the design. The fencing keeps the design casual and fits with the area it is in. Though this design is a bit square from the outside, it gives me all the space and protection I needed for the characters that live there.
