Custom Housing Design Tool
Tips and Tricks

- Do not rush your designs

- water/lava tiles can not be walked on

-If you create a waterfall and would like to be able to walk into it or place something on it later, use swamp tiles under them where they are not visible as you can walk over these and into your falls.

- the walls, no matter the size, on the tile east or south must have a whole tile infront to be walkable

- you are charged 10% of the total house value for every new design even if it is only one tile

- Use the transparency settings - to check to make sure every tile of your floor is covered before you move to the next floor

- the windows are located on a small button at the top of your tool window it has a line through it, click to get the windows for that type of wall

- the ratan style floor tiles (both grey and green) are seen as stairs by the system, so if you plan on placing something like a house mini on them or something non-walk through next to them, use another tile as these will not allow you to do so.

-Building your home/design is the first step, so always keep your decorations in mind as you build:
Think about how many rooms you need
If you need to, as I did for one room, subtract the floor tiles to see where the placement of your decorations will go and how they will fit. You may be able to shrink the size of the room or might need to expand it to fit your ideas. (It is cheaper to subtract tiles and put them back before committing a design and realize you don't have the room you need.)

-take a walk around and see what types of things you like and take note of them

- deeded items will be put into your moving crate the second you hit the 'cutomize this house' selection. These will not however be put back when you save your design before committing as your other things are. They will stay in the moving crate until you remove them yourself. So when you save your design and go back inside your home do not panic that 5 year vet reward is still there but is now located inside the moving crate waiting for you!

- when you commit your design, remember to set all of your doors and any secures you lock down. The default is always anybody. Also recheck doors and secures if you change the foundation.

- It is also possible to make your building/home public and still keep the front doors to friends or higher for privacy
